These are the results of the photoshoot that I did with my family. I decided to edit them in two different styles to see how the mood changes just from the editing itself. The first version of the photo series has pretty simple editing, with just a few tweaks to the exposure, contrast, saturation, highlights and shadows, tuning them all to define, and accentuate the main subject and tones of the photos.

The second time that I edited the photos, I wanted to give them a more vintage feel, with a more muted, sepia color tone. At first, I debated between doing a darker, black and white color scheme, but decided against it, and instead made them more grainy, with a dull, and calming color scheme. I really like this editing style because it has an old timey, classic vintage appearance. They are more calming to look at than the high contrast, high saturation style photos, and just from the color scheme, these photos tell a bit of a different story than the first series.

Reflection...
While planning and doing this photoshoot, I feel like I learned a lot about exactly how to place the subject in the frame, and how important every little thing that appears in the photo is. It was more difficult than I expected to get my models to cooperate, and do exactly what I wanted them to do, so in the end I just made do with what I had. I enjoyed making a little story with the pictures, even if it's something as simple as blowing out candles on a birthday cake:) And I really like the result. I enjoyed experimenting with different editing styles, and seeing and comparing the results of this. Overall, I'm really happy with what I created and I learned a lot throughout the process, that will definitely help me throughout this course.
